Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you get there:

Step 1: Identify 2-3 Job Descriptions

Select 2-3 job descriptions that represent your ideal roles. These will serve as prototypes for tailoring your resume.

Step 2: Analyze Job Descriptions (JD)

Thoroughly examine these job descriptions to identify 3–4 key skills or experiences that employers are seeking.

Step 3: Brainstorm Achievements

For each identified skill or experience, brainstorm 3 achievements or projects that demonstrate your capabilities in these areas.

Step 4: Categorize Current Bullet Points

Organize your current achievements and bullet points into categories that match the key skills from the job descriptions.

Step 5: Delete Irrelevant Points

Remove any bullet points that do not directly reflect the key skills or experiences the employer is looking for.

Step 6: Write/Edit Using the XYZ Method:

Now, it’s time to refine your bullet points using the XYZ method: Accomplished X by doing Y, resulting in Z.
